ABOUT US

My name is David Mainesmith, and I own Artistic Piano Tuning. I am a certified piano tuner and a graduate of Randy Potter School of Piano Technology, where I completed studies in piano tuning, repairing, and regulating, as well as in ethical business practices.  I am also an associate member of the Piano Technicians Guild, and I have passed the RPT written, technical, grand regulation, vertical regulation and repair exams.

I have been involved in field technical work for over thirty-five years, beginning in the US Air Force (six years) by repairing radar systems.  After my military service, I spent thirty years as a field engineer working on mainframe computers and data and telecommunication equipment.  My interest in piano work began while working in  the electronics industry.  I have been in business for five years, successfully servicing hundreds of pianos of all types and brands - everything from Steinway grand pianos to spinets.  My background in electronics field engineering really helps me to understand the most current physics and computer science used to tune pianos.
